Goldfish Tank Mates
ldfish should be kept with Goldfish. Ideally, single tails with single tails and fancies with fancies. If it will fit into the mouth of the Goldfish, its fair game. Goldfish aren't generally an aggressive fish, but they are most certainly a greedy fish.
Some people do keep plecos with their Goldfish. It's very risky and not something I would recommend. only Bristle nose and rubber nose plecos are potentially suitable. Plecos (and occasionally BN/RN plecos) are known for sucking the slime coat off Goldfish. Ensure your Pleco has its own diet, driftwood and if you have any doubts, remove them.

Cories and Goldfish aren't compatible. Aside from requiring different chemistry (Cories need really soft water, goldfish need neutral to hard and a higher pH), goldfish are scavengers, so they feed off the bottom... They often come across Cories down there. The problem with this is if the goldfish decides to nibble the cory, they're not aggressive fish, but free food is fair game. Cories have a spine on their dorsal ray which they raise when stressed. If the Goldfish has the cory in its mouth, the cory can become lodged, killing the cory and the goldfish can choke to death. I've heard of this happening too many times to count, it's very sad and a risk I would avoid. Personally, I'd separate them. Cories are also very sensitive to nitrates (and nitrites and ammonia), goldfish are poop machines and this can cause issues.
Snails are a great option. Apple and Nerites being some of the most popular. If you have a well established tank with areas of high current, you might consider Bamboo shrimp as tank mates too!
Take care if you have telescopes, celestials and bubble eyes as ornaments and boisterous fish can do severe damage. They may also struggle for food against other Goldfish. This is easily managed with hand feeding. Bubble eyes are best kept in a species only tank with no ornaments.
Tropical fish and goldfish shouldn't be kept together for a variety of different reasons.
